A Three-Day Course in Cosmetic DentistryFriday 1st and 8th of October and 12th November 2010
Do you want to be able to offer your patients predictable cosmetic dentistry of a consistently high standard? Do you currently refer patients elsewhere for their cosmetic treatments because you lack confidence? If so, what is stopping you from gaining the knowledge, skills and confidence to be able to take on cases that you would previously have referred?
This three day course aims to provide you with the ability to understand and accurately plan cosmetic dentistry cases. By carrying out tooth preparations on phantom heads, recording these with an impression, constructing provisional restorations and finally at a subsequent day actually cementing the restorations in place, allows you to go through the clinical stages of a cosmetic case right up to polishing the finally fitted restorations. We feel that the cementation phase is something that is often overlooked on courses such as this and feel that it is essential to go through this stage of treatment on phantom heads to see, understand and experience how stress-free cementing multiple veneers can actually be!
The course, in keeping with the overall ethos of the North of England Dental Academy, is to bring about and increase in both knowledge and practical skills, but above all else, to bring about an increase in confidence. All lecture notes and presentations will be given to delegates on CD along with step by step manuals to use on the step by step practical sessions. Close circuit DVD recordings can also be used to demonstrate techniques in the phantom head room, so that clinical material can be watched over and over again to study the methods being taught.
Run by Dr Nigel J Hargreaves BDS MDentSci (www.nigelhargreaves.com) we focus on teaching in a relaxed atmosphere with close supervision by approachable and attentive staff. The course is to be run from The Complete Smile Academy (www.completesmileacademy.co.uk) 8 Thomas Street, South Shields, Tyne and Wear, NE33 1PU. This extremely high-tech centre provides a wonderfully luxurious facility for both seminar and presentation work, along with the fully equipped on-site phantom head room for all practical sessions. Due to the heavy practical nature of the course and to allow for close training and supervision, places are limited to a maximum of 15 delegates on the course.
The total fee for the three day course is £1695 (including VAT), this includes all literature, manuals, lecture notes, phantom head teeth, burr kits, lunches and the 8 veneers restorations that are cemented on the course. A total of 18 hours of verifiable CPD is also awarded on completion of the course.
